About the Program

What is IMPACT-AD LATAM?

Building upon the successful IMPACT-AD program established in the United States, IMPACT-AD LATAM adapts this experience to the unique needs, opportunities, and challenges of Latin America.

IMPACT-AD LATAM is a regional training initiative designed to advance Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD) clinical trial readiness across Latin America.

Through intensive training and mentorship from international and regional faculty, the program aims to strengthen the ADRD clinical trial workforce across Latin America by building expertise in trial design, implementation, and leadership. The program also seeks to expand clinical trial capacity and support the sustainable growth of ADRD research infrastructure throughout the region.

Frequently Asked Questions

Investigators and site staff across Latin America who are interested in establishing, strengthening, and sustaining clinical trials in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD). This includes Principal Investigators, research coordinators, physicians, and members of multidisciplinary research teams who hold a full-time position at an institution in Latin America.
The program is scheduled for April 2027 in Mexico. Exact dates and venue details will be announced in advance.
Yes, participants who complete the full program will receive a certificate of completion. Details will be provided to accepted applicants.
The program will be conducted in English, so applicants are expected to have a good level of English proficiency.
There is no registration fee. IMPACT-AD LATAM will cover all participation and travel costs for accepted trainees.

Trainees are selected following peer review of application materials by the IMPACT-AD LATAM review committee. Applicants are evaluated on their demonstrated commitment to ADRD research, alignment with regional trial development goals, and potential to expand local trial capacity. Selected applicants will be notified in early January 2027.
Applicants must submit: (1) a Personal/Career Statement describing their goals and research interests; (2) an NIH-style Biosketch, maximum 5 pages; and (3) an Institutional Letter of Support from a representative of their institution.
